Génial pour la mise à l'eau !

We bought Tabasco one month ago. Me and my girlfriend Martina, we like boats and sailing. We are used to use small sailboats only. We rented them before (once or twice per year) and we sail on our lakes - Lipno and Orlik. Month ago, we decided to buy our own boat. We saw plenty announcements and physically visited 7 ships. This was the first and in the best condition. The only problem was that was parked at the garden of a very old sailor on the ship trailer with no registration plates.

The reason, why our Tabasco is a hybrid, lets say full hybrid :-D, is rather practical. The old sailor never used sails. Just an electric engine even though is quite weak and petrol engine was available. I checked petrol engine (TOMOS, Yugoslavian from 1980s) it worked but I was not sure about reliability and we also purchased electric engine and power battery.

Saling chambers : ca rend humble...

Since we could not find appropriate trailer etc. we decided to sail from Ustí nad Labem to Prague on the river Labe (Elbe). That was about 80km on the water. It meant that we have to overcome seven sailing chambers and a canal connecting rivers Vltava and Labe. It took us two days and petrol engine partially collapsed in the first chamber 😊. So we used electric engines in the chambers and petrol for longer distance. Now it is repaired and we use petrol, 4.5 HP.

We got excellent opportunity to meet Tabasco during these two days. We did not know anything about this type of sail before. Since we were investigating on the internet parameters, experience etc. We were surprised how valuable sail we got. Last weekend we spent nearly the whole day with building mast, establishing sails. Since we had not information before, we used pictures of sailors from your web page. That helped us very much. We still have some doubts, e.g. how to establish rolfok and ropes on the boom. Detailed manual or pictures would help us.
